Do you ever feel like this when you’re fishing? I’ve always wanted to be able to fly.. hard to imagine the freedom. Sometimes I think it’s possible to get pretty close with a fly rod. All that is needed is the flow, the light and a mind in the present and the far.

Pretentious? Maybe. But you nailed it on the head. Even just holding a fly rod will do it. I remember the first time I picked one up. It was so light (compared to my spincasting rod) that I thought it would float in midair. And the way fly line is so supple? And then when you get a dry fly to land just right on the water that you almost fool yourself into thinking it’s real? Yeah, sometimes I feel as if I could fly too…
